Apropos business partners now cover 40% of UK and 65% of London

New property digital platform, Apropos, which has been created by the long-established DJ Alexander Ltd, has signed up business partners covering 40% of the UK ahead of the launch in early 2020. The innovative property platform now has 20 business partners across the UK in many of the largest cities in the country including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle, as well as having over 65% of London covered. The firm is well on its way to its target of 25 business partners by its launch date in January 2020. The firm currently employs 170 staff in its Edinburgh offices with an additional 30 employed directly in developing the Apropos platform.

The Apropos platform has been designed to revolutionise the lettings industry by establishing new standards of transparency, fairness, and convenience for the benefit of both landlords and tenants. The platform utilises cutting edge technology combined with a network of committed, local property experts providing the face-to-face client connections.

David Alexander, joint managing director of Apropos by DJ Alexander Ltd, explained: “The progress we have made in the last few months has been outstanding.  We have attracted business partners from across the UK who are drawn to the service we will be providing and the method of delivery. We’re not charging a joining or monthly fee which offers commitment to the partner, and we are supporting them as they develop and grow their business.”

“In all parts of the UK, but particularly in London, we have found our service and our property platform are integral in attracting top quality agents to work with us. Once agents hear what we have to offer and the way in which we intend to deliver our service they want to be a part of the business.”

David continued: “Our partners need to feel directly involved, to be a part of the business and to understand that they will directly benefit when the business grows. We want them to know that it is as much in their interests to expand the business as it is in ours. As part of this, a further benefit that distinguishes Apropos from its rivals is that our business partners have the opportunity to build up a monthly recurring income and, more importantly, build up a residual value for themselves for the future.”

The firm has recently appointed two new directors to the board as the firm builds up to the launch of Apropos. The appointments of Nick Maunder and Matthew Garstang as board directors reflect the firm’s desire to grow their already strong senior management team to deliver on their expanding service which will transform the firm from being solely Scottish based to covering the whole of the UK.

Nick Maunder is the Director of Operations and Chief Technical Officer with Apropos by DJ Alexander and has been instrumental in creating and delivering the bespoke Apropos software platform along with 31 staff based in the UK and India. Nick has extensive experience of delivering large scale software projects and was previously the Chief Operating Officer with global ATM software company KAL.

Matthew Garstang is the Finance Director for Apropos by DJ Alexander and has been integral in strengthening and developing the financial strength of the business as it gears up for growth. Matthew is a qualified CA and has previously worked for PWC and Grant Thornton. Most recently he was the director of finance for the Crieff Hydro group of hotels and remains a non-executive director there.

David Alexander, joint managing director of Apropos by DJ Alexander, concluded: “Attracting so many top-quality business partners is key to ensuring that we launch Apropos with the right people in the right place. Equally the appointment of Nick and Matthew to the board is important to ensure that the best people are in place at senior level to deliver the best service for our clients. We have a lot of challenges ahead but with the best people, on the board and across all parts of the company and the country, I believe that we can achieve great things in the future and I look forward to working with all of our partners to deliver the best property management service in the UK.”
