Edinburgh Neighbourhoods


As the Quartermile is exactly that from the castle, walking is an easy option, whilst numerous buses pass Middle Meadow Way. Recreational facilities are second to none, including the rich history of the Royal Mile, the intellectual delights of the National Library of Scotland and the theatres of the West End.


Fountainbridge is less than half a mile from Princes Street. Princes Street gardens and the many historical places of interest to be found in Edinburgh city centre are just a mile away.


The ever popular area of Trinity lies approximately two miles north of Princes Street. Nearby recreation facilities include bowling and tennis clubs at Lomond Park. There is also easy access to The Royal Botanic Garden, Inverleith Park and walks along the Firth of Forth.

Glasgow Neighbourhoods

Clarkston, Giffnock & Newton Mearns

Clarkston & Giffnock are affluent suburban towns in East Renfrewshire which lie approximately 8 miles from Glasgow city centre. Newton Mearns is a suburban town in East Renfrewshire. Primarily a residential area, with most of its inhabitants travelling by car or public transport to Glasgow for work and shopping.


Hillhead is situated to the north of Kelvingrove Park and to the south of the River Kelvin. It is at the heart of Glasgow's fashionable West End, with Byres Road forming the western border of the area, the other boundaries being Dumbarton Road to the south and the River Kelvin to the east and north.

Merchant City

The Merchant City was formerly the residential district of the wealthy city merchants in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The area has been promoted and built up in recent years as a residential, shopping and leisure area, mirroring London’s Covent Garden.
